Arlington 100

March 16, 2020 marks the 100th anniversary of Arlington’s official naming. New District Brewing Company has decided to celebrate. We present a recreation of a historical lager beer produced by the Arlington Brewing Company from 1902-1916. The Arlington Brewing Company was a 4 story brick building located in Rosslyn, where the current Key Bridge Marriott sits today. The brewery had a 100,000 barrel per year capacity and was one of the largest DC area breweries. The beer was often advertised in The Washington Times and marketed as “Nature’s Spring Tonic,”. New District Brewing decided as homage to 100 years of Arlington being officially named Arlington.

New District has named our historic lager “Arlington 100”. The recipe has been carefully recreated adhering to the production practices and ingredient bill with care taken to revive the beer in its true form today. We worked with a local beer historian who researched and pulled documentation that helped us to recreate the recipe while offering guidance for brewing practices at the time.

The small batch Arlington 100 lager will be available in the New District tap room on March 14 beginning at 2pm when County Board Chair Libby Garvey will act as honorary barkeep and pull the Arlington 100 tap for the first time. We hope you enjoy drinking a piece of history in remembrance of the great brewing history of Arlington Virginia.

Cheers!
